Riverton Harbour - Southland, New Zealand - Credit Great South.JPG
Nearly 200 years old, Riverton (Aparima) is the oldest Pākehā settlement in Southland and one of the earliest European settlements in New Zealand. Riverton (Aparima) has always had a rich fishing culture. Before the arrival of Europeans, it was home to a substantial Māori pā that was attracted to the area because of the ample seafood.
